If u haven been to China before i think Xiamen is a good place to start. But if u've been to beijing or shanghai or yunnan or guangdong before, DONT GO TO XIAMEN, at least not for another 5-7 years.
There's really nothing much to see there. There's this Hakka village which is quite interesting. They showed us where the locals live and all.
There's a lot of mountain climbing during the trip. I really don like exercise but there are 2 that was quite interesting. Both of it was only as wide as our body, one wider den d other. The more narrow one u've got to walk sideways up for about 5mins. Its like if u lean on one side of the wall, the other side is at most only about 3-4 inches from your face. Claustrophobic people will find it hard to walk this path. The other wider wan is worse in the sense that its very steep. U practically have to walk with your hands on the ground in the dark for about mins. Its quite interesting but very exhausting.
Also there was this ride on the bamboo raft which was quite good but den it was raining so i din quite enjoy the ride and scenery.
The scenery in the Fujian province is only so so if compared to yunan's picturesque scenes. There's a lot of stones and stuff for you to imagine...
The food is horrible though. Everyday we ate almost the same kind of dish: brinjal (its the season), fish (with lots n lots of tiny lil bones in it), some weird kind of meat and all the disgusting soups. Imagine eating things like that for 8 days, 2 meals a day...
So, all in all i think this trip to Xiamen would be enjoyable if i haven been to Yunnan before. But since i have, i find this trip boring and a waste of money. Also never ever follow Reliance if u think the tour is cheap for their standard. The quality goes with the price.
Oh yea i forgot to mention there is really nothing to buy in that place. No souvenir that can actually represent that place. I din even get to buy anything ugh!!
